Dental implant

One of the major advantages about living in the 21st century is that if you are missing teeth, you have a variety of different options when it comes to replacing them. You don’t need to settle for gaps in your smile. While they are a great tooth replacement option, many people shy away when they find out about the dental implant cost. However, you may actually end up saving money in the long run if you opt for them. Continue reading to learn about the different benefits that they have and how you could save your wallet in the future.

What Are the Benefits of Dental Implants Over Other Options?

In order to determine whether or not dental implants are worth their initial cost, it is important that you understand their many benefits. Here are just a few of them:

  • Prevents Bone Shrinkage: Dental implants are the only tooth replacement option out there that replaces the root of the missing tooth. This helps to stimulate the jawbone when you chew, therefore preventing it to be reabsorbed by the body.
  • Chewing Power: After dental implants are completely healed, there are no eating restrictions. You will be able to eat all of your favorite foods again. This is because implants restore up to 90% of your natural chewing power. Dentures only restore up to 30%.
  • Long-Lasting: Other options, like dentures and bridges, need to be repaired and replaced every few years, but dental implants can last upwards of 25 years or even the rest of your life if you care for them properly.

How Can Dental Implants Save You Money?

You may feel deterred when you first discover the cost of dental implants, but the truth is that the initial cost that you see is much different from the total cost. For dentures, the initial cost is much more affordable, you don’t think of all of the other things that you will need to invest in later on, like adhesives and soaking tablets. The structure of your mouth will also change over time due to bone loss, so you would need to have your dentures relined and replaced. They also take much more time out of your day because they need to be taken out, soaked, and brushed regularly.

As for dental implants, you only need to care for them like you do with your natural teeth. Also, you won’t need to worry about bone loss or repairing and replacing them. You are set to go for many decades to come.

Even though dental implants don’t appear to be the most affordable option, they can actually save you quite a bit of money in the long run. This way, you can replace your missing teeth and save your wallet at the same time!
